Copy of Why I opened my own Nursery

I think I've told this story about 8000 times. But I have never written it down. Until now.

I had my Oldest daughter when I was 26. I had finished my degree in education and was working as an early childhood movement teacher in various nurserys. some were public, some were private but they all sucked. I would complete my lesson plan and call my husband crying "How can they treat toddlers this way... it's terrible!" Now it wasnt that there was some fowl play going on or abuse- god forbid- it's just that these little humans were not treated with respect, or as little humans. They were not treated with the amount of love and affection I think tiny humans should be treated. and my gentle soul couldn't bear it. Mind you, many many parents dont treat their children with the attitude of respect and love I am talking about but I guess that is what I am trying to change, shed light on.

As my oldest approached the age of 1.5 it was clear she and I both needed something extra. I needed adult contact and conversation and she needed more than just Mommy.

My options were pretty limited. We reached the point as a family that we needed extra income and I was not willing to put her anywhere, a nanny would basically earn what I would be bringing in so that was'nt realistic either and I wanted to stay with her (but not homeschool because I recognized I could'nt do it alone) . So as the universe planned it, my little sister just moved out of her beautiful little living space at my Mom's house and the huge yard and room were standing empty. I asked my amazing and supportive mom if she would be willing to give me a chance at opening my own Nursery and she said - YES.

My amazing and supportive husband was on board as well. and we all jumped head first into my bussiness, community, raising kids as a tribe, showering them with SO much attention and love adventure. 7 years later (and 3 kids of my own that I raised in my nursery- Daycare) I can proudly say - it worked! My staff are both amazing moms and friends to me, I trust them with my children's lives and well being and am a happy calm Mommy thanks to it. I am so happy for all the tiny humans that got what they deserve in their early childhood years. I am constantly searching for the right communties, activities, people to help me raise the best tiny humans I can. And I'm so fortunate the universe guides me in the right directions and I am usually (not always) smart enough to listen.

sending you love and smiles,

Alona
